Caltrans 100% Recycle
Caltrans 50% Maximum Allowable Recycle Proportion–Corrected
Raisch Products occasionally receives inquiries relating to the maximum allowable proportion of recycle aggregate base product used on private and public projects. The majority of general engineering projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California are designed using materials meeting the main body texts in sections 25 and 26 of the 1999 and 2006 Standard Specification editions of which a 50% maximum allowable proportion of recycle content is contained.
Following 1999 and also applicable to the 2006 editions, the allowance of up to 100% recycle is authorized by amendment to the main body texts of the latest California Standard Specification editions. The Caltrans amendment for Aggregate Sub Base (Section25) and Aggregate Base (Section 26) allows up to 100% recycle content. The link below provides more detailed information.
