V–Series On–Site Crushing Information

Raisch Products welcomes discussing your specific onsite crushing scope of work not limited to the specific finished material requirements, site layout, project phasing, site staging, ect. This is a brief introduction to our crushing services utilizing our main crushing system which consists of both a primary jaw and secondary cone crusher.
This system is capable of producing multiple products concurrently. We contract for large quantity (60,000 tons plus) and small quantity (10,000 ton plus) recycle or native material crushing projects. For recycle crushing projects that include asphalt materials containing geotechnical fabrics or limited site staging conditions, our smaller “impact” crushing system can address your needs. Non-crushing screening services are also available upon request.
Our crushing system(s) rotate throughout our fixed recycle sites throughout the Bay Area as finished material demands dictate. Raisch Products extends an open invitation to you to visit our site(s) as we can demonstrate our crushing capabilities. As always our locations and inventory stockpiles are available for inspection at all times.

Introduction
Within the Bay Area, Raisch Products currently operates three fixed concrete and asphalt recycle facilities and one quarry in reclamation which accepts clean fill. We anticipate our fourth recycle site coming online in San Francisco in the second half of 2008. We were the first concrete and asphalt recycler producing certified Caltrans Section 26 Class II Aggregate Base product in the San Francisco Bay Area, pioneering this application in 1985. Our locations are as follows.
Main Office – 99 Pullman Way, San Jose, California 95111
Mailing – P.O. Box 643, San Jose, California 95106-0643)
San Jose Recycle – 55 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose California 95136
Sunnyvale Recycle – 1444 Borregas Avenue, Sunnyvale, California 94089
Milpitas Reclamation – 2122 Old Calaveras Road, Milpitas, California 95035
Fremont Recycle – 7010 Auto Mall Parkway, Fremont, California 94538
Upcoming San Francisco Recycle – Amador Street, San Francisco, California 94124
Our aggregate base products are distributed throughout the private and public local markets. They meet the State of California Standard Specifications listed under Section 26 and we back these products with certificates of compliance. Daily internal quality control sampling, testing, and record keeping is an ongoing practice at Raisch Products.
Current and historical in-house production test results for gradation, sand equivalent, and durability are available at all times. We are bondable and operate under a single Local 3 Operating Engineers Union contract.
In July of 2007, we received our new state of the art V-SERIES recycle plant. The engineering, design, and manufacturing of this plant was three years in the making. Due to the ease in portability, increased efficiencies, and high production rates of this plant we now have the ability to perform work outside of our fixed locations at competitive contract rates. Our operations are distinctly different from all others in the industry.

Operations
Daily Production Volumes
Our high average daily productions can help shorten the duration of any crushing project. Raisch Products has historically produced an average of 3300 tons of finished products in single production shifts. Our new plant is realizing throughput volumes up to 5800 tons.
Dual Primary/Secondary Crushing Components
Our main systems have always been engineered around the use of a primary crushing unit. The primary unit can process larger size concrete (maximum 4.0’ length x 4.0’ width x 15” thick). This reduces time spent in the field (pre-sizing to 2’ minus). The same sizing (up to 4’ maximum) applies to asphalt concrete. Shortened project duration times will be realized along with the ability of our system to handle materials of larger maximum size including the processing of raw feeds with the increased reinforcement bar content. Our primary jaw comes equipped with a remote controlled backup breaker assisted with video. This breaker assists in the continuous raw feeding process to the primary jaw, minimizing processing gaps.
The primary unit is also equipped with diversion gates to extract excessive fines content or scalpings (if dealing with a stockpile of raw material that has excessive fines or low levels of dirt and old base). The scalpings will be 1.5” maximum size. This eliminates pre-screening through a separate grizzly system to address fine stockpiles.
Simultaneous Crushing of Asphaltic Concrete and Portland Cement
The crushing of intact asphalt concurrent with reclaimed Portland cement is a non-issue. Please note that maximum production rates are achieved by the processing of a 50/50 combination with our system. The blending of the two reclaimed raw products has historically helped achieve higher sand equivalents and durability in our finished products.
Gradation Adjustments On The Fly
Our plants have always been designed using the latest technology. Our new system will allow us to make gradation adjustments on the fly. Touch screen adjustments allow for gradation adjustments on the fly eliminating down time.
Triple Magnet Metal Extraction
Our new system incorporates three electromagnets. These magnets were designed and strategically placed at specific points in our system to maximize the amount of steel recovered from the crushing process. The current industry standard is for two. The third magnet allows for finer elements to be extracted.
Air Assisted Deleterious Material / Screening Subsystems
Raisch Products has engineered, fabricated, and incorporated a deleterious material extraction / screening subsystem to compliment our operations. During an average single production day, a 10cy drop off box of paper, plastic, aluminum, cloth, and other deleterious materials are extracted from the finished products that may have inadvertently past our incoming weigh master inspections. This system additionally draws more particles in the #200 sieve to be shaken from the product using an eight gravitational force screen. This subsystem can be used in conjunction with our smaller impact crushing system to address materials containing petromat. We pride ourselves on our clean finished products.

Production
Simultaneous Multiple Product Production Capabilities
Our system is not limited to standard aggregate base production. When fully combined with our above mentioned air assisted sub system, we are capable of producing up to five varying grades of marketable materials simultaneously. These products are as follows.
- California State Specification Class II Aggregate Base.
- 3” minimum to 6” maximum course bridging product (fines extracted).
- 1.5” minimum to 3” maximum course bridging product (fine extracted).
- 1” maximum course bedding (fines extracted).
- 3/8” maximum California State Specification 19 Structural Backfill.
Internal Production Testing
Raisch Products samples and tests all materials produced during each production day for gradation, sand equivalent, and durability. This information is used for internal quality control purposes and is available upon requests. Certification by Raisch Products indicating compliance with your specific need(s) will be issued by us as is the case for the materials we market from our fixed locations.
State Of The Art 150’ Long Stacking System(s)
Our main retractable conveyor/stacker can build stockpiles large and small with minimal segregation. Maximum stockpile height is about 48’. This main stacker is automatically controlled to change in arch, height up to a maximum finished stockpile of 48’, and retraction/extensions within a 70’ range. This stacker flexibility is necessary to minimize possible production segregation that typically occurs with other fixed conveyor/loaded stockpiling operations seen throughout the local market. A 97,000 ton stockpile can be achieved in a 180 degree arc with our stacker. 139,000 ton single stockpiles can be achieved in a 270 degree arc. Modified stockpile configurations or shorter stacking configurations are possible utilizing our additional intermediate conveyor components.
Miscellaneous Items
Our System is permitted State of California statewide legal. The Caterpillar generator at ten feet runs at 30 decibels. Our system incorporates fixed high pressure spray/mist heads at multiple locations throughout the crushing cycle to minimize dust. Partial or complete plant footprints and site utilization preplanning is available upon request.

Crushing Project Considerations
For maximized economic benefit relating to your crushing project, both the future “at grade” and “underground utility” material quantity and specification requirements should be determined. These quantities are necessary for accurate estimating and site stockpile planning purposes. Our system/subsystems are capable of producing materials that may be utilized but not limited to the below listed applications.
Please note that specification requirements for all of your at grade or underground backfill quality requirements should be reviewed by us prior to estimating.
- Building under-slab crushed rock sections (straight concrete recycle).
- Private and public right of way driveway and parking area aggregate bases.
- On and offsite underground utility trench backfill materials.
- Over excavated area stabilizing material.
- Temporary construction site entry materials.
